I have the round kind that you twist and turn. I use it only in an emegency. It is only a band-aid, and I hate a cutter that chews its way across the fabric. I think you deserve a new blade when they get dull; of course mine will have knicks in it and that is really annoying and not fixable. I heard a lady at our Guild say she put a new blade in every time she cuts a new quilt. I would like that but my pocket book would be crying.

I have purchased every kind that has been made and so far I'm not satisfied with any of them. I ordered this latest one and it was backordered so I won't receive it for another two weeks but I'm not counting on it being any better than all the others have been. If this one is as bad as the others I'm going to stop wasting my money and plan on just buying new blades from now on - just not worth the aggravation.

It looks like it is for that trucut type of cutter. I wonder if it even works on the olfa's?

I recently bought a less expensive rotary blade sharpener. It has a circle band (open in the middle) with a light sanding surface on one side and a buffing-type surface on the other side. The blade is held securely with a screw between two knobs with small handles. You place one side of the blade on the sanding surface and manually turn a few times, buff it on the other side and repeat with the other side of the blade.

I tried to sharpen two blades a couple of days ago and both seem to be worse afterwards. I haven't had time to go back and work with them, but am hoping that I didn't get the blade assembled back in the rotary cutter correctly. The picture posted by Oldswimmer looks like a much better sharpener and would probably be worth the difference in price if it will work. Has anyone tried a knife sharpener to sharpen a rotary blade?

I'm looking forward to hearing a review on how this product works.

I buy mine in bulk on Ebay but got a good hint from this board. Someone said that if you turn your blade over when it gets dull on one side, you can still get alot of use from the other side. This seems to work for me. Considering the price of this gadget, I think I will wait and see what some of you think about it.

I have two laying in my sewing drawer, neither one works. Or at least, I could not distinguish any benefits from using them.

I'd like to have one, but it's a little pricey for me. I may reconsider and buy one later since I have three sizes of rotary cutters. The one I use the most is a 65mm......I love it!! Got blades on ebay for a good price!! Always looking for the bargain!!

I have one, have had it just over a year. I found that it will extend the life of the blade if I use it BEFORE the blade is trash.
