When I was young we had a blanket in our house called "the sick blankey", it was only used when you were bona fide sick. I continued the tradition when raising my kids. Thinking about it (as I am a nurse) those blankets were probably full of icky little germs! Anyway my adult dtr was sick a few days ago and texted and said she wished she had a sick blankey, so I told her i would make her one. I would like to use the pattern that is all squares and squares insde of the big squares but all of the edges look wavy and wonky. Does anyone know the name of the pattern I am thinking about?? Thanks for your help!

The comfort factor must have outweighed any old icky little germs!

An easy way to make any ordinary block wonky is to add 3 inch strips on all sides and then lay your square ruler on top. Instead of squaring up the block, you turn the square at an angle so that all the sides are askew and cut out the square. Instant wonky blocks. A great way to use up orphan blocks by using one colour wonky sashing. There is a pattern where you can sew the odd angle sashing on to create the wonkiness but I like the easy way better.

This may not be quite what you are thinking of, but there is a log cabin pattern called "Logs on a Roll" that wonkies log cabin blocks in the same way.
