Wooden Hera

Does anyone know where I can buy a wooden hera? I have a plastic one, but it's so slippery. I love the way they work, but I just can't hold on to it. Thanks!

i couldn't find it online either. i'm wondering, though, is you might be able to use this bamboo pointer/creaser

what about Wooden Irons or wooden bone folder

can you scruff it up with some sand paper or put a rubber coating on one end?

I bought a box of old sewing notions at a yard sale and I found a bone hera! I love it. I had no idea what it was at the time. LOL. It's a wonderful notion.

If it's big enough, try wrapping some of that nubby ACE bandage type stuff around the handle.
My hera marker is bone of some kind....lands I've had it for decades.....looks like a curved section cut from a large egg, and has a brownish striated/nubby section on one end, probably from where it was attached to whatever it came from. Sure wish I could remember what/where/why I got this so I could describe it better!

A hera marker makes a line for quilting that is a slight crease in the fabric....which of course, come out and doesn't leave a mark after the quilting design is done.

I use a dowel rod I've whittled a sort of blunt point on the end of. (Yeah, blunt point. That makes me sound super smart!)

I use this bamboo pointer.
