I am working on a top that calls for fq of wool. Is that felted? garment type? I have no clue and am tempted to take the easy way out and use just quilting cotton :-D
the pattern is Crazy as a bird dog from the buggy barn any tips will be appreciated Inge |
Yes, if you are using wool, it needs to be felted. Wash it in hot water and dry it in the dryer to felt it. If you do not have local access to wool, there are many websites that sell it. These are two of my favorites.
http://www.thewoolbasket.com/ http://www.suespargo.com/fabricWOOL.html I looked at your pattern. It is really cute. Fabric "requirements" for quilts are just suggestions. You have the option to use any fabric you want to---and cotton would be just as cute for your quilt. It all depends on the look you want for your finished project. |
They probably suggested wool because of the "fur" look it would give you. But cotton would be cute also.

I think I'll stick with cotton, much easier to come by for me. Would any 100% wool fabric work?
what about once it's felted, can the quilt be washed without problems? |
