Just wondering where you buy your wool fabric for wool applique projects? The quilt store I go to doesn't carry much, they say they are getting more but I have been hearing that for awhile and still haven't seen much. One lady told me that they order small quantities and it is gone almost before it hits the store floor

Thanks

Try Snowy River Quilts http://snowyriverquilts.com/ I just saw some wool in there this weekend. I don't think she has it on her website, but call her.

THRIFT STORES! if you browse thrift stores and yard sales you can pick up many many fabulous wools for penny's!
a good man's wool jacket will give you over a yard of good $60 a yard wool- for a couple bucks bought at a thrift store- plus you get free buttons- and other trims.
99% of my wools come from thrift stores.
i take the garments home- cut apart all seams- remove any lining-buttons ect- then toss it in the washer with HOT HOT WATER and some detergent- wash it- drain add more hot water wash it again- i keep it hot, agitating, washing for 1/2 hour to 45 minutes- then a cold rinse- then into the dryer.
i love to work with wools!
wools are fun to over-dye too. everything is usable- small narrow strips used to hook rugs, small pieces for applique- larger pieces for bags, jackets, background pieces---everything is usable.

Goodwill is usually a good spot. Look for pleated skirts and items in the largest size they have, you will get alot of flat wool!

I buy wool at thrift stores but it's getting hard to find 100% pure wool clothing. Most are wool blends.

Everything LOL. Seriously, I'm not sure what I need yet. Just thinking about starting a stash because I have seen so many patterns that I would love to applique in wool.
