wool look fabric but not wool

I was clearing out a closet and found two pieces of wool like fabric that have no content on them. So I did a burn test and concluded it is not wool. I think I had intentions to make some clothes. Not now. So what can be made with them or ditch them?

i wouldn't ditch them. they could easily be used in a wall hanging that does not get washed often.

Is it synthetic? What was the result of the burn test?

Try to see if you treat them like a felted wool fabric if they would work for wool appliqué. Take a square and put it in boiling hot water like you would to felt wool, once wool is felted it doesn't fray. If you look up patterns for felted wool, you will find lots of ideas. If after trying to felt a square and it doesn't work, it might be a candidate for a clothesline basket bowl. They look relly neat with questionable fabrics. I did a rayon blend and it turned out great.

Tartan, Great idea about the basket- had bought the clothesline just wasn't sure what fabric to use-now I may need more to do a basket-haha. I did the burn test and quite honestly I had a hard time telling what the smell was but I will use your chart, Ghostrider. QuiltnNan, I hadn't thought of wall hanging but have an idea or two. Thanks so much for your ideas.

wash & dry first to see how they come out- if still ok use for what ever-
i've made some pretty interesting appliques & quilt blocks with all kinds of different fabrics- corduroy, velvet, suede, microfiber's, fleeces, if it holds up & looks good after laundering i use it...if i'm doing something it is right for.

why not make clothes out of it?
