I thought I had better pass this little tidbit on. If any of you have the rolling office chairs for your sewing chair beware! I discovered that once you clean all the thread out of your casters your chair turns into greased lightning! Just be sure you have your brakes in good working condition or you just may end up going through a wall! Guess what I did today????

adriansmom 02-15-2010 10:37 PM

OMG!! Hope you and the wall are ok!!

Chasing Hawk 02-15-2010 10:43 PM

ooppss, I hope you weren't hurt to badly. Since you may have already put a hole in the wall...how about a room expansion..lol..bigger sewing room!!

amma 02-15-2010 10:49 PM

OH NO!!! I hope that you were not hurt!!!
Mine is on carpet...so I guess I never thought about getting used to rolling slower. Thanks for the reminder!

oksewglad 02-15-2010 10:49 PM

Another word of caution--don't stand on it and think it's going to stay in one spot!

craftybear 02-15-2010 11:22 PM

Wow, I bet that scared you!

I hope you are okay! Now, you be careful with that chair, wonder if we should ask get you a drivers license for that chair, rofl

Take care!

I guess we all learn by our little mistakes and accidents.

Sewjoyce, No,No,No. Broken bones and surgery are no fun. Get a small folding step stool with a handle to hold.

Tippy 02-16-2010 07:59 AM

OK.. first off.. how big IS your sewing room that you can get that much momentum up? or perhaps how thin are the walls? Second.. how do you feel about signing up for the demolition derby? Please send your address as we are designing a special seatbelt for you with the attached Shoulder strap. (just kidding)..

I love it. There are no mistakes, only oppurtunities.

Jingle 02-16-2010 01:33 PM

I sit on a stool, I bought 2 rolling office chairs and didn't like them, tried the stool and I love it.

Quilter7x 02-16-2010 01:34 PM

Pictures please, we need proof!

Oh my goodness, I hope you laughed like crazy after you went through the wall. Most of all, I hope you didn't get hurt in any way.

Thanks for the warning!

Ninnie 02-16-2010 02:03 PM

Tink's Mom 02-16-2010 03:46 PM

here's to hoping the wall hurts more than you!!

stitchinwitch 02-16-2010 08:24 PM

This sounds like it MIGHT be in the Olympics!

Loretta 02-16-2010 08:41 PM

Thank goodness you weren't hurt. Also everyone be careful it you have hardwood floors. The chair will roll away from you leaving you on the floor and it's not a pertty picture getting up.

kasmitty1 02-16-2010 09:21 PM

Operator error can be a pain sometimes.

Great idea but I'd have to be a gopher or badger to make a tunnel under our patio slab.

Sheila Elaine 02-16-2010 10:36 PM

I ditto Ninnie. Did you hurt yourself? Had both my knees replaced last Summer & I don't need to go thru the wall (I'd go zooming to my mailbox instead of walking out there. I'd look like the cartoon where they have reved up wheels for legs & feet.........vrrooom!

Fritzy 02-16-2010 10:42 PM

Okay gals, I can't believe you are so gullible. I really didn't go through the wall but I bet if I got a good start on a straight away I probably could except that mine are cement. I hope I didn't give anybody heart failure but I'm sure most of you knew I was kidding. I just thought of this little joke as I was actually cleaning my casters thinking that it could probably happen but you'd have to have paper thin walls. My chair really does roll much better though. By the way you can sign me up for the demolition derby & I'll be waiting for my new seat belt, shoulder strap & air bag! (PS: I got my driver's license in a cracker jack box!)

I don't think I could really get too much momentum going anyway since the actual floor space for movement in my room is only 3' x 4'!

Gramof6 02-16-2010 11:40 PM

LOL Well I bought it. LOL Hook, line & sinker. LOL I read it & thought, "Well now she has the start to a new doorway." LOL I have wood laminate floors and those sucker are slick! If I had the room I could sure fly!

sewaholic 02-17-2010 02:15 AM

I was hoping you were ok and being concerned about you and your wall then I saw Marsye's picture and started laughing, and could only picture you hurtling across your sewing room.

Bailey's mom 02-17-2010 05:43 AM

Hope you are ok! I guess that it could be an olympic sport...Quilt chair racing!!

Feathers 02-17-2010 08:16 AM

My visual picture of you screaming around in your chair is quite entertaining. Hope you weren't hurt and I like the idea of using any "hole" in the wall to expand your sewing room...classic lemons into lemonade!

stitchinwitch 02-17-2010 09:46 AM

Fritzy! Stand in the corner!! We were concerned and you pulled a funny!

joeyoz 02-17-2010 09:50 AM

ROFLMBO!! I know it's not funny, but         OMG!! Are you OK? I'm sorry. Just picturing a sewing chair missile launch.

Debra Mc 02-17-2010 10:37 AM

And don't sit on the edge & lean over. Busted fanny!
