wore out my machine!
 

I have a Viking Rose and wore out the needle bar. Anyone else done this?? Should I repair or get a new machine??

if you like the machine and the rest of it is still in good shape- repair it- no sense in giving up a good machine you like just because it needs some repair-
you might want to talk to the guys at the dealership-when they repair it and ask why it wore out- if there is something you should be doing differently so it does not happen again. i've had my viking for 10 years and the only thing i've worn out is...hmmm
nothing that i can think of
and i've been using it 30-50 hours a week consistantly for those 10 years

I have two Vikings and have had them for 20+ yrs. with no major problems. I would personally fix it if it were me. I love my machines.

I too have a Viking Rose that I wouldn't part with. If I had my REAL choice, I would fix the needle bar and then buy the newest Designer model. I'm sure it's cheaper to just deal with the needle thing, but it's your call.

I did wear out my old Viking years ago it just died. Got a new one and it go struck by lightning replaced it and it is still going many years now. Just love those machines.

If you have a relationship with a repairman you can trust, I would have him look it over and tell you if it's just the needle bar that worn out, or if the rest of the machine is on the verge of demise. That would help you immensely with your decision.

Vikings have a very good/long warrenty, this may be covered.
