Worklion brand rotary cutting mat?
 

I'm in the market for a new cutting mat since mine is pretty much toast. I bought Omnigrid this last time and I"m not happy with it's performance. It didn't last long in my opinion. I noticed a brand called Worklion that looks similar and comes double sided (lines on both sides). Does anyone have experience with the Worklion brand? How does it compare to Olfa or Fiscars?

I have not heard of this brand but the reviews & price seem to be good. I have Martelli & Quilter's Select & they are both great.

Blue on one side, pink on the other, just have to recognize that the lines are for 1-35 and 1-23, not 1-36 and 1-24. I can see the markings on these better than on the green mats, and they are holding up well. Double-sided, so very good for the money.

Remember me asking about the Worklion rotary mat? I decided to order one and wow am I impressed! It's 5 layers thick, heavy and doesn't slip. It has lines marked on both sides so it's reversible when one side wears out, although one side is metric and not inches. I'm glad I decided to chance it, it's a very nice rotary cutting mat for the money. Only $35 for the 24x36 inch size!

Good to know! My aged cutting board has developed a bit of a blister in the middle, it no longer lays flat and I will be replacing it shortly.

Your cutting boards will wear out faster if you use the lines on them because you will start repeat cutting over and over in the same spots. It's the advice I give every beginning quilter and turn mine over and start by using the back and don't move to the front until I have to. Typically I have my fabric in some sort of angle to minimize the chance of repeat cuts.

Those deep grooves you wear into the markings by the repeat cuts will also give you skipped threads eventually when you cut across them.

Use the markers on your rulers, not the mat! It takes awhile to get used to, but once you do, you never look at your mat again and they last much longer, not to mention still being able to use both sides! If your ruler isn't long enough, well we have two ruler techniques, so you measure over with your long 24" ruler and place another ruler to the left of your desired length for your cut.

I have no experience with this brand. I have changed over to Quilter Select for most of my cutting needs,( except for what I have with the accuquilt). I am very pleased witht Quilter select.

First time I've heard of that brand and it looks like a really nice one! And the price is awesome.

I changed to Quilter's Select mats and rotary cutter. I'm very happy with them.
