way before I ever met you all and was doing things "my way" I made these horrible scrappys for BFF and her two kids.

HORRIBLE.

She brought them with her yesterday for a visit and the one I made for her is filled with so many holes. My heart goes pitter patter. She thought I'd be mad. I think it's so sweet that it's been used up that much. I'm repairing it with orphans. It won't budge this time ;)

Her kids call theirs "auntie bankys" and those are their time for bed snuggle blankets. They also have been worn out, but they don't care. It's so sweet and makes all the hard work and pulling your hair out worth every second.

Kinda like the Velveteen Rabbit!!! I love when a quilt is loved.

When my best friend's DIL was pregnant, I made her a VERY simple little quilt(which isn't really a quilt). I took a piece a red fleece and appliqued some dalmatian and fireman squares on it and cut around the edges and tied knots. The little girl is in the second grade and when she gets home from school, the first things she does is get her "suckie blankie". She has always, from when she was a baby, sucked on the knots and there aren't hardly any of the applique blocks left on it. He grandmother(BFF) has offered to make her another one and she won't have it.
