Or is the print too big? The largest motifs are about 6" across.

I believe its all about the repeat, i'm thinking 27 inches but it could be 24.
that would be lovely as stack and wack

I am wondering if there is enough variation to the fabric design, and colors too...

I think it would be pretty, but not quite as dramatic as some :D:D:D

Use a hinged mirrors to test it. That way you will know for sure. It looks like it might work but never can tell. Also since the pattern is in itself a kaleidscope it might not show up well in a stack and whack

To my eye, there's not enough variety in the design. It's all the same shape, I mean.

I love the fabric, but in addition to not enough contrast, I'm afraid there is too much white in it to work. The Kalidescope or OBW is too much work and is too expensive to make with a questionable fabric choice. I'd play it safe and NOT use this.

Repeat should be 12-24" and alot of contrast makes a gorgeous quilt.

hummmmm.......not what I personally would use. When I look for SAW fabric, I go to the stuff that really makes me go.....what in the world would I do with this fabric and then I know SAW or 4 patch posey!! I like the ''gaudey'' stuff.....big prints , the size of the palm of your hand 3-4 inch stuff, with lots of color!!

Im thinking not. Too much white background and like previous posters mentioned, there is not enough contrast. I'm thinking your resulting blocks would end up looking pretty much like your original fabric. JMHO though.

Love the fabric though, Im a child of the 70's so I loved my Spirograph !!!!!!

Me too - loved that toy. I would buy this fabric just for the nostalgia factor. And those are my favorite colors, too.
