Would like a personal recommendation on a book on cube quilting

We are in the states briefly. I have access to Joann's, Michael's, Hobby Lobby and of course, on line. Do any of you have a good book you can recommend on making those really super COOL quilts that look 3D? And at which store you got it if it is one of the big three places that are common in the US?

Thanks, Becky

Jinny Beyer has the best 3D quilts. Look at her website, jinnybeyer.com. You can get free patterns as well as purchase her books. One of the quilt magazines published a tumbling block pattern that can be done by hand instead of using the machine.

Welcome to the US... hope you are enjoying your stay.

The book I have that gives instructions on the 3D blocks is: One-Block Wonders encore! by Maxine Rosenthal & Joy Pelzmann. My daughter gave it to me as a gift so I don't know where she bought it but I would think you could find it at a quilt shop or JoAnn's, etc. Maybe you can google it or look on eBay or amazon. Good luck.

The magazine with those instructions for the tumbling block is American Patchwork & Quilting, February 2012 issue. You might be able to find it a LQS rather than a chain store, since they pull old issues when putting out new ones. If not, check with some of the local libraries to see if they have it & you can copy the intsructions. Hope you're enjoying your visit here in the States!

Look at the books by Marci Baker. I know she has a couple with tumbling blocks and the hollow cube blocks.
