If I ever make myself such a quilt, I plan to attach a 2.5" black solid square on both ends of the jelly roll strips as accents. I've seen very attractive pink/black quilts.

I don't think my Mom would like black in hers, so was wondering if solid white squares would look good. Using the white is why I would not use VERY light pinks. Any opinions?

From your description of the pinks, I would think that just about any shade of green would make a great accent color since pink flowers are always on green stems, they are a natural blender to each other. IMHO

I've made 3 jelly roll quilts with the squares at the end of every strip. I used dark brown squares with a variety of brown and peach strips, another with shades of brown and blue strips. The quilts made with diagonal joins seem too busy to me in a small quilt.
