I am beginning a jelly roll quilt for my 88 yr. old Mom's birthday the end of January. Her favorite color is pink so I'm using various shades, mostly very colorful/bright hues, and eliminating very light pink fabrics.
If I ever make myself such a quilt, I plan to attach a 2.5" black solid square on both ends of the jelly roll strips as accents. I've seen very attractive pink/black quilts. I don't think my Mom would like black in hers, so was wondering if solid white squares would look good. Using the white is why I would not use VERY light pinks. Any opinions? |

I've made 3 jelly roll quilts with the squares at the end of every strip. I used dark brown squares with a variety of brown and peach strips, another with shades of brown and blue strips.[ATTACH=CONFIG]454162[/ATTACH]The quilts made with diagonal joins seem too busy to me in a small quilt.
