I have watched several tutorials on the strip tube piecing and watching everyone using different rulers. Wouldn't the Companion Angle ruler by Darlene Zimmerman work just as well? I really don't want to purchase another ruler when I have one that will work just as well. Has anyone tried this and it worked or would anyone have any suggestions that would work instead of purchasing the Strip Tube ruler.

Any ruler with a 90 degree should work---even Eleanor Burns square up ruler or Kay Wood's Starmaker 6. You would just need to make sure you put tape from one edge to the other to make sure you are cutting the same size blocks. The tape would form the bottom of the triangle. If you need a picture I'd be glad to supply one.

I just used a square ruler, I just made sure to use the same angle line each time.

Thanks guys. I used the square ruler and it worked just fine. Thanks for responding. I just got thru cutting my first tube and it worked fine. I was almost beside myself wanting to work on this project but thought that I had to have that ruler to make it work --------- NOT. Worked and I am happy. Thanks again.

Glad to hear it. I want to do a tube quilt too but I have so many rulers I didn't want to buy another just for that.
