I think you mean enter. Couldn't understand why one would want to bury a quilt. Lol

Sound interesting!! I am not sure that I can afford to ship 2 quilts both ways and pay the entry fee for non members.
I am not very good so I probably wouldnt win anything lol thanks cheryl

I thought the same thing! It's embarassing the number of scenarios that flittered through my brain in that first second of reading. A Procession of quilts behind the display wagon, little scrappy doll quilts throwing selvedges instead of confetti, jazz band playing "When the Saints," the whole nine...

I need more coffee - or less...?

Katesnanna, Don't think I said bury, I put inter instead of enter. It was a late note. Thanks anyway, Cookie

"inter" does mean "to bury" or literally translated "in the earth." Just initial reactions, all in fun.

The quilt show sounds like a great undertaking. I doubt I'd have a shot at the $20K, but I'd SO love to see the entries.

I thought the same thing... something about putting you quilts in your will....
As far as entering the contest goes, it's a bit beyond my skill level.

Me neither but I did have a good laugh ! Thank you!

Please don't apologize! Nothing to be sorry about, we've all done it. At least your typo was humorous. I sent a memo to my entire team with a naughty word in the title. Went right thru spell check. Now THAT was embarrassing. After that, I proof read everything!

nativetexan 08-05-2011 04:15 PM

it's funny but i read it as enter anyway. but then, i'd just looked at the winners of the quilt contest on this forum. i guess my brain read it the way it was meant.

My thoughts were that a quilt was going to be in the casket with you. LOL People leave all kinds of requests to the family.

I had a friend that had a quilt she made draped over her casket. She wanted that and no flowers on the casket. Around the room were displays of her quilts. It was a lovely display of her work.

LOL I knew what you meant but I imagined soliciting pictures of quilts so ugly you hoped someone would bury them. Warped mind--runs in my family. 8-)

Cookie64,
I hope I haven't upset you as that was not my intention. If I've upset you or embarrassed you in any way I do apologize.

Cookie64 08-06-2011 05:40 AM

Katesnanna, Oh no, you didn't, so don't worry about it. that's what I like about this board, everyone is so nice and we tease each other and move on. You don't need to apologize.

I sure hope I didn't add to any embarrassment. Everyone has a slip of the fingers in typing.

When I read that, I thought casket because my friend did that, allthough none was burried with her. She had a special one that she was proud of and wanted it with her as long as possible. She had a slow death and could state her wishes.

Don't apologize. I needed that. You gave me one of those silly laughs that turns a day around :)
