I absolutely would. What better canvas for showing off a gorgeous art quilt than on the bed?

Obviously this is assuming that the quilt is bed-sized. No sense in putting a 2' x 2' art quilt on the bed- hang that sucker on the wall!

I would put it in my guest bedroom.

I think every quilt is a piece of art, so yes I would put one on a bed.

Yes indeed. If it's made bed size, then a bed is a perfect spot for it. (if one has pets that occupy the bed at night like I do, I just use a flannel sheet over the quilt at night for them, but take it off in the AM when I make the bed.)

It would all depend on what kind of embellishment the art quilt had. Some are made with the intension of never laundering so are embellished with fibers, beads, and other things that would never survive laundering. If the quilt could not be washed, then no, I would not put it on a bed but that would be my only criteria. If it was an art quilt that could be washed and was big enough then absolutely.

I would put it on a bed that I don't use very often. It's a great surface for display and sometimes we run out of walls to put our creations on.

I would not. I have dogs and furniture is fair game at my house and my older dog has claimed my bed as her spot. I have a store bought quilt on that bed. However, every wall in my house has a quilt on it...looks kind of like a museum.

I definitely would...if I could keep the dog off the bed.

Ditto. A good percentage of art quilts can't be washed.

I believe that quilts were meant to be used
