Would you rush?

Friday we leave town for a family wedding. I have a top completed that is 64X75. I really enjoy taking my sweet time with my quilting. In fact now that I am retired, I prefer not to rush for anything. LOL With only 5 days, would you hurry and sandwich, quilt and bind? I am just using fleece for the backing (no batting). I know I could always mail it a few days after the wedding, but then there is expensive of mailing plus I would prefer it to be there on time. I lost 3 days because of evacuation for the hurricane. :-( Regardless, we are giving a cash gift. If not the quilt, we will also give something to open. Thanks for all opinions.

let's have a pic. We are anxious to see.

For me it would depend on how I plan to quilt it. If it is intricate custom quilting them I would wait rather then rush. If it is fairly simple quilting, I would get it done and ready to go.

If I wanted to gift the quilt I would get it done.

I too would choose a less ambitious quilting pattern and get it done to gift at the wedding.

Nope, I would wait and do it the way it wants to be quilted.

Unless it's destined to be a family heirloom I'd get it done and over with and off my list of things to do.

What else do you have on your plate this week before the trip? If there are other things to also accomplish and this would add to the stress, I'd wait. If this could be a priority I'd get it done.

I hate to rush in general, and don't really know how I would speed up the process of piecing or quilting. It seems to take as long as it takes. I would not be able to quilt and bind a top in 5 days.

I would take a picture of the quilt top and put it in a lovely card with a note to say you are finishing it especially for them.
