I live in Phx and haven't yet been to their store. I'll have to visit them as soon as I have money in my pocket. Thanks for posting.

Rose Marie 10-05-2011 05:55 AM

Me too. I live in Phx. and never heard of this store.
There is another very large quilt shop at 35th Ave and Northen. Its as big as a grocery store.
It recently moved into the Goodwill store that moved out of the shopping center.
It is the 35th Ave Sew and Vac.
They have special sections for civil war, 1930, etc.
They are filling up the store fast.
By the way for a cheaper way to go theres Mulqueens on 59th Ave and Northern. All fabric is priced at $6.99 A YD.
It is good fabric.

In general, you can just walk around and come out having spent your whole paycheck. Slightly pricy, but I blame that on where they are located.

katzak 10-05-2011 05:57 AM

35th Avenue is incredible. I want to make a bargello quilt, and THIS is where I'm going to shop for fabric. They also have every color of RA embroidery thread, every ruler made, thousands of patterns, etc. You name it, they have it.

Next time I go out to see my FIL in Tucson, I'm taking a road trip!

We have a neat shop called the Hen House a little north of Houston, in the Spring-Klein area. Big store, lots of displays and quilts, mostly country & reprod fabrics, also good batiks, lots of primitive designs, kits, wools, needlework, yarns, everything for knitting etc :)

wisconsin 10-05-2011 06:51 AM

Wow, you are indeed lucky to have such a great quilt store.
Makes me green with envy.

loriea 10-05-2011 07:13 AM

I know a bus driver...

luvstoquilt 10-05-2011 07:16 AM

Anyone in my neck of the woods up for a road trip????

arizonagirl 10-05-2011 07:16 AM

Lucky me I get to go there when ever I want to. It really is a great place. Wish it were bigger. It is very friendly and welcoming. They have a kitchen in the back of the store where you are free to help yourself to drinks and cookies fresh made everyday. They have many wonderful samples hanging through out the store.

debbiecharlie 10-05-2011 07:17 AM

Wow! is all I can say.....that and so sad I am no where around!

nancy59 10-05-2011 07:18 AM

I have attended a retreat about a block from this store every year for the past four years. It's not a huge shop, but it's very well stocked and the guys are great. The cookies and coffee aren't bad either.
