Found this darling vintage machine at a yard sale today...passed her by...came back...she was calling my name. Bought from a quilter who told me she still was sewing on her. I can't wait to try to out!!! Anybody know anything about the Singer model 348? Also, trying to think of a name for her...leaning toward Daisy for some reason.

trying to get a shot uploaded that is not sideways

She is very pretty and I like the idea of a floral name for her, but I would lean toward something that reminds me of her beautiful colour.

blue fawn she is beautiful

Just sewed some with her...I predict we are going to be good friends.

I may call her Tiffany or Audrey for Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffanys, one of my favorite movies.

Neena,
The Singer 348 is a great machine. I got mine in the late 60's. Made clothing for myself and two babies. Finally upgraded to Singer Touch n Sew around 1975; wanted fancy stitches to make ice skating costumes, etc. BOTH THOSE OLD SINGERS STILL SEW GREAT. Now I have two Viking Designer I's because I wanted to do embroidery when I retired. However, I mostly do quilting now. My daughter has called "dibbs" on the blue singer. I'm waiting for tax refund check to pay for the Featherweight I found.
Enjoy your 348.

I bought a 347 which looks just like yours, just because of the color! I've had it for over a year and just tried it out. So far, not so good. It seems to sew fine till I put fabric under the presser foot! Guess I need to have it looked at. Congratulations on your great find!

I recently inherited the same machine from my late MIL. I was mostly shocked to see that the cords are also blue. I haven't used the machine yet, but I love the color.
