You're a lucky duck! I won't even begin to tell you how much I paid for my quilting hoop and yours looks to be in great shape!

Jackie Spencer 04-30-2012 05:25 PM

Oh My Goodness. Do you know what that quilting hoop and stand sell for? They are very expensive!! I paid a couple a hundred for mine, many years ago. I love it too.

CoyoteQuilts 04-30-2012 05:55 PM

Really great score!

sewgull 04-30-2012 06:16 PM

Good shopper.

sammygirlqt 04-30-2012 06:19 PM

Love all the fabric you lucked out on. That quilt hoop looks just like my Hintinberg that I paid $125 for back in 1990. I hope you do hand quilting. I really like my frame.

JenJen224 04-30-2012 06:20 PM

Have fun great find.

Quilter Day-by-Day 05-01-2012 05:28 AM

I guess I didn't say what I paid for the hoop 50.00 but I knew they sold for alot more. Yes I have done some hand quilting and really enjoyed it so now I'm sure I'll do more.

You are very lucky. I never find sewing things when I shop those places.

Linda1 05-02-2012 04:17 AM

You really lucked out. I have been looking for a hand quilting frame like that but can't afford the new ones,

Jratcliff 05-02-2012 05:26 AM

Same here. But then I haven't actually tried any here. When I lived in FL putting out a table with a handful of old bottles was considered a garage sale. I know a lady who does the sales and gets old sewing machines. Her husband refurbishes them and then she gives the away. Guess I'll have to look around here and see what's out there, here being Phoenix.

Quilt-Till-U-Wilt 05-02-2012 05:31 AM

That is a Hinterburg hoop and I payed $100 for mine used.

jimsjunque 05-02-2012 05:53 AM

Several years back Mom and I went to a garage sale. A quilt frame was listed along with magazines, fabrics, books ect.We were early.A friend was there looking at antiques and said ; 'you're a little early for the sale are't you?'Loudly, I said' this sale has what I am looking for, and at a price I'm willing to give.' The lady giving the sale said, 'Looks like we have customers, lets open early'.
I bought my Hinenburg[West Bend,Wisc.]quilting hoop for $40.00.She also had fabric on the table that was to be inserted into ziploc bags for .25 cents. Mom said ,'What are you doing?' 'I'm going to purchase all these pieces and put them in these bags, just like the sign says; but we have to hurry. Other people will be coming'.
I paid around $75.00 for my magazines, fabric, scraps[fill a bag], quilting hoop; all sold even before the sale was supposed to start.

Caswews 05-02-2012 05:55 AM

Great find! I guess I just don't go to the right yard sales. lol

ging10ging 05-02-2012 02:53 PM

The quilt hoop itself is worth more than that. Good haul. They never have anything when I go. Guess there's not many people do that down here. Have fun. Sue
