I am in the process of trying to begin my first quilt. I was given the advice that the yellow brick road pattern would be good for a beginner quilt. I can't find this for the life of me!! Can someone please help point me in the right direction to get a pattern for this.

Thank You!!!!

The link below is wonderful.

Three patterns I would suggest would be:
Railroad Track
Basketweave
or Nine Patch

Good luck, have fun! (and don't hesitate to ask more questions)

You'll have to go to your local LQS for the Yellow Brick Road pattern.
It's an easy pattern. I like it!

There are many free, easy patterns you can find online. I'm sure if you just put in a Google Search, you'll find them.

Also the blocks that Joan posted are good too!

you can also try a Turning Twenty quilt - using only fat quarters! Nothing but big pieces to make big blocks! fun and a great quilt for a first!

My LQS has the pattern. It is $8. Would you like for me to get it and send it to you????

They have others for beginners too!! $8 and shipping

I fairly new to this too and have it to do my first full size bed quilt too!!

Good luck to you :D :D

This is a very easy quilt to make, from a book called Happy Hour. It has a number of beginner quilts - this one is called Triple Treat Petite. This is one that is on my bed right now. The picture isn't a very good one and the colors look a bit washed out, which they aren't. Hope this helps you out.

When you put a nine patch and a snowball togather you will get a neat design.

That looks like something a total newbie like me could do, may i be so rude to ask how you do it and so on?

Love your colors. I have this book and it is one of my favorites. The triple treat is so easy. I've made the regular and the petite and love them both. I highly recommend this book too.
