yet another post on the ruler fold
My current fabric storage method is wrapping around mini bolts - I get 4 "bolts" out of one regular size bolt from the fabric store.
Do those of you who do the ruler fold method find you get more shelf storage space with the ruler fold? Thanks, Gina |
Yes I do, but unfortunately/fortunately I fill up any empty spaces. LOL

I use the comic boards to wrap my fabric, I get more fabric on my shelves with this method as they are thinner then fabric bolts.

Can you show pics of the storage concept. Thanks,

I don't do the ruler fold. I fold mine using the comic boards. I also put a note how many pieces to the board and approximate measurements. These are usually one or more yards. Up to 3. I have some on bolts that are more than 3 yards up to 6 yards. After that just more bolts. Since hurricane season isn't over with, I still have my clear storage containers stacked inside each other just incase I have to protect quickly.

I hate stacks of fabric. I don't care what method is used to fold it, it's still a stack of fabric. All of my yardage over a yard in length is on either coroplast or foam core boards. I think I got a bit more on each shelf with winding the fabrics on the boards than I did with stacks, plus it's tons easier to take a fabric off the shelf and put it back where it was.
