I made a bunch last Christmas with the Clover yo-yo maker. I strung them together as a garland for my Christmas tree. I saw one at a store and thought, I can make that.

Have a yo yo quilt my grandmother made in 1944. Won 2nd place at Illinois State. Fair and then given to my parents as a wedding present. Not sure what she used but they came out 1 1/2 inches in size and fit a double bed. She pieced them together and backed it with a sheet.

me too. Clover is clever ;-) many hours of making yo-yos while waiting for son to be through with his lessons.

I used a compass to make my templates the size I want. I have about 400 yo yos of lace, satin, taffeta, tulle, cotton and linen. They're going to be part of my crazy quilts. You can make flowers out of them by stacking them on top of each other. These are great take-a-long projects. I like to use buttons for the middle for flowers. I've purchased clothes from SA and GW just because I want the button(s).

Try SA or GW for blouses like that or check out clearance racks at vintage shops.

I bought the yoyo maker at JoAnn's and i LOVE it. It makes it so simple. I have been making them for years - in spurts - then get off doing other things - i have a box full that will someday be a quilt.

this is the only way to go for me just snap your scrap fabric in then trim around it no fussy cutting all those circles

I purchased a yo yo maker and I loved it. It was sturdy and helped make stitches that ruffled evenly when I pulled on the thread. I had a pair of jeans that were too short so I sewed the yo yos around the hem of the jeans making them long enough so that I could wear them. They turned out pretty cute.
