Has anyone ever tried using their machine's basting stitch to make yo yo's? I've thought about trying this but didn't know if it'd be worth the time.

Seems like it would work, as long as the stitch is long enough to draw up easily.

I think it would work fine as long as you can sew circles well. Tiny ones would be hard for me, but I sew 4 inch cirlces for Dresden plates. Seems like you could do it.

hmmm...you just gave me a great idea of what to use the circle attachment that came with my machine for!!! :thumbup:

My Janome 8000 has a attachment called "circular sewing attachment" for making yo-yo's Spent $42.00+tax on it made a few because was going to make a Quilt (big plans)-- NOT-- But did work ,,,wonder where that topic is about what you didn't need... Good Luck

I like them too. I just bought the X-large size to use as centers for Dresden Plates.

I spent a whole car trip to New York last summer up and back making yo-yo's with those things. What fun!!!! :D:D
