You Know it IS Time to Quilt Again When ...
 

(A play on the recent post: " You know it's time to quit for the day when ...")

- It's tomato canning day
- The mornings are cool and crisp
- We barely have enough electricity to run all the appliances at the same time, including the sewing machine. (We're off the grid.)
- The maple trees start turning colors
- Baseball starts getting really good on the radio
- The county fair is over
- It's getting wayyyy to close to Christmas...all those gifts to be made!!!

The dogs have gone asleep and my head is bursting with ideas to sew.
Football and soaps on the TV. WEATHER is getting cold or too hot.

Yep! This is the weekend to pull out the quilting. Been crafting all summer.

Football has started so the DH is occupied. YEAH

you just finished reading the QB and saw a great new idea

All the cats are outside and no one is walking or sleeping on your stuff.

all that is left in the garden is tomatoes. and all outside work is done. so
whoopee i can get out the sewing machines.

When you see a quilt and your heart leaps.

time to quilt again....when I wake up. Well, after coffee.

When your son goes back to college and harvest will be starting.

After shopping.

when you have a stack of quilts your friends brought over and they are falling off the table cause the pile is to high

When my DH goes into his annual football coma.

Your stash is screaming at you "Get rid of me or quilt"

When your hubby buys you a scrap of beautiful fabric but it's not a panel and the pattern is totally wrong for cutting up. Then you go to a quilt show and buy a layer cake of fabrics that will suit the scrap.

Right after I get done reading the QB and checking out Missouri Quilts deal of the day.

When you can go to the sewing room and it doesn't cry for rearranging or neatening up.

96 more days until Christmas is enough for me to say its time to quilt again :)

When all of the summer visiting is done.

When there is no one around to bug you, and you have such a stack of UFOs to get done.

When you wake up in the middle of the night with your mind whirling about ideas for quilts you want to try.

When my DH has left for work and I have the day/night to myself, or he wants to go somewhere I don't have to go with him for a few hours ... Harley shop, hardware store, riding with the guys, etc. :)

Yep!! Or the house really needs attention....so I bury myself in the sewing room. lol

Oh, i love this board!

When DH is watching his favorite football team play on Sunday afternoon, or Thurs. evening or whenever his favorite baseball team is playing. Yup, I'm a real sports fan.

- When the kids start telling me what they want for Christmas.
- When there's too much apple cider in the fridge
- When we get our first rain (Last night was our first of the season, so I'd better get crackin'.)
- Baseball playoffs are happening
- The firewood needs to be stacked. (Time to get up from the sewing table and stretch a bit.)

I got 6 tomatoes from my garden this year. Sometimes I hate living in Texas. :thumbdown:

Depends on what day of the week.......usually after breakfast and checking emails/QB, but some days after QIgong class or a trip in to the dr/haircut/shopping, etc.

Hubby is retired and has his own "Man Cave" with big screen tv, and lots of channels to choose from.

When your mind is full of love and you feel the need to send friends a gift to let them know you love them,x

When that new idea for a quilt is constantly tugging on your brain...

at a fabric shop where you saw all the new fabrics and quilt samples.

I know it is time for me to start making a quilt when I have just finished one. I don't garden, can, freeze or do any other crafts.

The weather is getting cooler (YAY), The dogs are acting lazy, and my new long arm is ready to be installed. Yup, its time to quilt

Rubesgirl, you aren't by chance a farmer's wife, are you? I had to chuckle at your post, because when my DH is gone for several hours and I'm not at work, that's when I get to my sewing uninterrupted...well, at least, SOME of the time! This past summer has been nuts for keeping me busy with produce from the garden when I'm not at work or watching my youngest grandchild. My poor sewing machines are lonely....:)

When I hear the geese flying over in mid-August. Then I know we will cool down soon and it won't be too hot to sew at the dining room table! YAY!!!!!! I dream of my own, large quilt room with A/C so I can quilt in the summer!!!!! And have enough space for my 6 quilting buddies to join me!!!
