I miss more than walmart fabric, walmart with thread. I am quilting this quilt for my sister to give at a baby shower and ran out of thread. I thought I had grabbed a large spool when I originally bought it but I didn't I got the med. size one, and it didn't cut it. Now I have to either wait to go to Joann's (in the city) or have my mom bring it to me next time she comes over since her walmart still has SOME fabric and a lot more thread than mine does.
Oh well at least I didn't wait till the LAST minute to quilt this. lol |
oh no, hope you find the thread soon so you can finish it

Not only do I miss these things, but when I was in Wal-Mart a few days ago I was going to pick up a few things I was out of. Their prices were higher than the only grocery store in my small town. I guess I will stick with my store and forget about Wal-Mart. They used to be cheaper, but I guess not anymore.

This is the very reason I am far from thrilled when the local WalMart remodeled and took out the fabric/craft department.
I may not be biggest fan of their fabric (no offense to anyone), but it was the other stuff like buttons/zippers/etc. that was important to me. Plus they are open when my schedule gets absolutely crazy. I now have to think and plan very carefully because it is basically 1 hour 1 way to any store that carries that type of stuff. There are times (well most of the time) when that trip is not really feasible for just a zipper. |
My friend used to live on an island. She had a rule:
"If you need one, get two" (If you have the $$ )The other thing is, you want a little thread left of every color for hand sewing or a repair. |

While no one in the community I live in is going to starve to death or die from lack of medical care, it is really amazing how many things are really not available unless you order them or are willing to drive an hour 1 way. |
