Are you making Crumb Quilt Blocks? I have been searching on line and what a cool way to use up your fabric scraps to make more blocks for a quilt.

I haven't made any yet - not quite sure how to start - but definitely have enough crumbs to make quite a few quilts!

I've been looking too and get a little stuck. I've attempted my own way but it's not turning out how envision what I'm seeing others doing.

I've got TONS of scraps I want to do something with. HELP!

Maybe start out with triangles, a square with a couple of randomly lopped off corners, or other shapes?

Have you tried lumberyard quilts. There are patterns out there. It basically uses scraps that are finished size: 2x2,2x4.4x4,2x6,2x8 sewn into blocks, then quilt. Very scrappy and turn out beautiful. I used up a lot of small scraps making those but still have smaller pieces to use. I have seen quilt with all size strips sewn then cut and sewn with "solid" in hst's Made beautiful quilt. These blocks can be turned to make differnt patterns to quilt like log cabin blocks.

I just found this link with lots of photos of crumb quilts. If you make any please post your pictures for us. Maybe we could have a picture section to show off Crumb Quilts all in one spot!

I think the important part is to put two pieces together and no matter how uneven the edges, sew a STRAIGHT seam, then add another piece with another straight seam. If your seams aren't straight the piece will bow on you. Even if you have to draw a straight line with a ruler, as long as you get the seam straight. then you can cut off any excess.
