I'm amazed to see the number of posts made by the daily top posters. Tonight, I decided to experiment and see how many I could do in an hour. I racked up 39 and that was with some fast reading and furious posting. Enough already.
I'll just go back to reading and posting when something appeals to me. Not to every post.
I waste too much time on my QB addiction already

Sadiemae 11-04-2010 05:19 PM

Me too! I won't get anything done if I try to post on every topic.

quiltluvr 11-04-2010 05:21 PM

Sounds like something I'd try for fun. But it's not a waste. In the PC vain, I'd say, maybe, creatively challenged. :P

annette1952 11-04-2010 05:24 PM

There is no way I could post on every topic even though I would like to. I think most of us have to do it this way. I try to read most topics because I don't want to miss out or maybe I'm just nosey! LOL Should say curious!

joan_quilts 11-04-2010 05:28 PM

I "lurk" and try to post here and there! I want to add but sometimes don't know what to say! LOL

QB's a lot more fun than not knowing the fastest route from a fabric sale to a workshop -- that's how I wasted an hour this afternoon by not having GPS! (But the fabric was 85% off if you bought the whole bolt!)

I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. It's just that I don't understand why someone would want that (to post the most). As you said, it takes up a lot of time. Maybe it helps them feel they belong.

I agree!!! But which is more addicting....quilting or this??
I think both are equal

Some members have been here longer than others- so they have a head start on me when it comes to posting.. I like to put my two cents in, but sometimes I'm at a loss for words and sometimes I just don't wanna say anything stupid... im in no hurry to make it to 1000.. I'm just happy to be here..

I decide to post something when I feel like I have something meaningful to contribute, and not just repeat what five other people have said before me.

I rarely ever read more than the first page of comments, so I will rarely ever post if I am going to be on the third page or farther back.

brushandthimble 11-04-2010 06:03 PM

I read alot more than I respond to, which is why I have lost a title "a regular here" again...

I just love being here. So much to learn and see. The most important thing isn't the number of posts.....it's that you have fun here.

virtualbernie 11-04-2010 06:38 PM

Usually what I have to say someone has said it before me so I just sit back and enjoy the ride!

Agree 100%.

I only post if I honestly believe I have something to contribute to the thread. other than that as hard as it may be sometimes, I keep my hands to myself!
Thank god I have a life outside of QB!

Annaquilts 11-04-2010 09:29 PM

It is a good addiction.

What comes after DITTO? LOL!
I don't know that I've ever heard anyone who actually makes an effort to be a top poster??? I think some folks just post more because they are on here more or whatever. The only ones that I do try to respond to are those who are introducing themselves for the first time. I just remember how welcomed I felt by all the "Welcome from....." that I got....so I try to always welcome new folks.

I'm happy to see some of these comments. I'm a lurker and, like others, I don't usually go past the first page since they're mostly repeated sentiments. But I've learned so much and really enjoy "wasting" my time here.

Stitchnripper 11-05-2010 04:57 AM

Hi "shequilts"!! Greetings from Louisiana. Will be in touch next time I'm coming to Atlanta and hope we can schedule something.

dkabasketlady 11-05-2010 05:51 AM

I've been TOP poster several times and it wasn't from trying. Most of my comments were to welcome the NEW members to the board. This place has been sooooo welcoming and helpful to me and I want it to be that way for others. Lately I have just been reading and not so much posting. I'm getting more sewing done, but still get on here in the morning and evening. I don't feel like I've wasted my time and yes, I'm ADDICTED!!! It's a good addiction to have, lol!

shequilts 11-05-2010 09:59 AM

Stitch:
'Good to hear from you. I loved our day at the Expo.
Be sure to phone when you get back in town.

buslady 11-05-2010 10:22 AM

I try to post periodically just so my name stays out there, but don't really have time to post to everything. I do good to get a lot of it read:)
