What is your typical way to read the QB? I generally go to "Pictures" first, then to "Quilt topics". I seldom think about looking at "Recent Topics" and that's really the smarter thing to do as I find myself looking at things that I've already seen. I love the picture section!
So, I'm just wondering what do you do when you first access this board? Sandy |
I go to the unread topics at the top of the page. That way I know what I have already looked at, and it shows the newest ones.
I always check out recent topics first.
I have my profile marked to show which topics I want to see. |
If there's yellow I check my PMs, if not I quickly scan and usually look at all the "for Sale" ads. Then it's on to the pictures, then on to anything that looks interesting.
I check my watched topics then look at unread topics.
Classifies,
I always check for pms, then head to classifieds!

Check for PM's, read new topics, if I have time I look at the pictures, then tutorials when I'm starting something new.
I do the same as quilts4fun: watched topics and then unread topics. Then I cruise around (for about an hour LOL) and then head to the sewing room.
I check GCC, Main, Classifieds, and Recipes. Pictures sometimes.
Always my PDA first!

Watched topic's first if I don't have any PM's. Then I check the unread topics and look for members buy/sell ads first before looking at pic's and anything else that looks interesting.
Unread topics first, then watched topics. PM's if I have any. On active days, I find I can bounce around between unread and watched topics for a good long while :D :D
I go to Unread topics, pictures first. Love you guys pictures, then main, I don't want to miss anything, then if I have time, I look at as much as I can. And then hope there is not a lot I want to try at that moment, so I can actually get back to what I was working on LOL. 12 hours quilt related, ie: this board, cutting, magazines, TV quilt shows, sewing....... about 1 hr. sewing, the rest just taking in everything I can.
I go to my watched topics first. Then recent topics. I really like the list of the most-watched topics that I get in my email from Admin. It's great to see the ones I missed.

Unread topics!!!
PM's, Watched Topics, then Unread Topics then I have to rush to get ready for work!
First do "MAIN" then "RECENT".
I just work my way through from the beginning
Classifieds, Recent topics, classifieds, unread topics... :)
I used to check the messages in the way you mentioned. Now I check the unread topics. It's much faster as everything I haven't seen is all right there.

Recent topics, general chit-chat and then whatever else looks interesting. I save the "eye-candy" (pictures) for last so I'm inspired to go sew!
