What would your "dream" machine be like? Mine would be voice-activated! "Forward", "Reverse"; "Stop"; "Foot up", "Foot Down"; "Needle up, Needle down"; "Press" (a little wooden piece drops down and the fabric goes backwards and the seam gets pressed) and my all time favorite - "Undo"! Unfortunately I have no picture of such a machine!
would be able to sew and surf the web at the same time! Someone needs to invent it

Ohh undo would be great! yes let's invent undo!
I think a sewing machine with a wine storgage system would be great! Each time you have to rewind the bobbin or pull out birds nest, it's an automatic refill!
Great ideas! Keep 'em coming!
mine needs a robot closet on the side or underneath so when the family asks me for something while im sewing, it does it for them without me needing to stop :D
i want the undo button too :D |
I love my machine now but it would work a lot better if it had a monitor for web surfing!
I thought of George Clooney with a needle and thread but don't have a picture of that either... and I was talking about machines, wasn't I?
A never ending bobbin... and instead of a undo button, the ability to over ride me BEFORE I do something that I would later regret LMBO and a built in maid/cook :D:D:D
Definitely the "undo" button. Must have a never ending bobbin, and little rails that could come up for different seam allowances. Really good light. If we can't have undo - could we at least have automatic seam ripping? And a mirror arrangement so we can see what the bottom piece of fabric is doing.

My dream machine would be one which could read my mind and say 'stop don't do that', when I am about to sew a mistake! One which could carry on quilting when I am asleep and make all the tops for me, the ones I dream about before I go to sleep! Oh and have a chocolate dispencer on the side, that never ran empty! Lol!

ok seems as it's a dream machine:
Just double clone me so that I can sit at my piecing machine, my embroidery machine, and the other me can do everything else that is demanded by my MIL, DH and DC oops and work. Better make three or four of me. So many projects, so little time. |
Fancy beverage dispenser, foot massage feature on pedal, a fast-forward feature for tedious tasks...
I have two of them really......
The original wooden Patent machine that Elias Howe made, and one of the Kate McKenzie Singer 12's that only 2 are known to exist. Billy |
My dream machine is a juki with the quilt frame and stitch regulator!! I am just beginning to begin to save AGAIN for one.
While sewing last night thought of another feature I would love. Self threading.
How about a bobbin that is a whole spool of thread. I've always wanted to invent that one!
Oh I like that one also

The Eldridge/National sewing company had the patent and made the machines back in the early 1900's. They were usually referred as a "Two Spool" machine. Billy |
Mine would be design a quilt on the computer, press print, and out comes your quilt.
