I use Etsy a lot - there are many sellers on that site and you can find good deals - also I check many different blogs to get updates on sales - some of the online shops have flash sales - they only last for a day or so and you can get great deals. I buy all my fabric from the shops on Etsy.com. I use Moda fabric and have never been disappointed. Sometimes a little pricey, but good fabric.

Whittles.com is my first place to go. Great customer service and have never been disapointed.

Like someone posted most of the time it's cheaper to pay postage than pay for gas. I had much rather shop from my home than fight the traffic/crowds and wait for someone to cut then wait in line to pay for my fabric. I only have two sources locally and Wal Mart is 25 miles one way and JoAnns is 50 miles one way. My car gets 25 mpg so that's $7.20/50mi or $14.40/100 mi.

I've liked buying from Connecting Threads as well as Hancock's of Paducah, and I've always received good quality fabric. I've also gotten some nice fabric from Quilt in a Day. Personally, I don't think $5 shipping is extreme, although free would be better, although most sites offer free shipping if you purchase a certain dollar amount.
