your favorite quilting rulers?
I did a search but didn't come up with anything. One of my rulers needs replacing (6 by 24), so I was looking at options. Most of mine are Omnigrid. I've heard some rav reviews on Creative Grid--Joannes doesn't carry them from what I researched. There's an Olfa Frost too--a few loved that one.
So--what's your favorite? |
I love my Omnigrid rulers. I have a few other small rulers of various brands, but don't like them near as much.
|
Fiskars is my personal favorite - I like thin lines on a ruler and find some of the other brands too thick. I am not a fan of the bright yellow of Omnigrid either but I know a lot of quilters like them for that exact reason!

I love the Olfa frosted rulers - very thin lines, and easy to read no matter what colour fabric you're using. They're also quite un-slippy, because of the frosted backs.
My second favourite is Creative Grids (a very close second). I find them visually a bit more cluttered, but they also have nice fine markings and don't slip. I buy them for any size/shape I want that Olfa doesn't make. BTW, Michaels (at least in Canada) carries the Olfas if you want to see one up close. They also have good coupons. |
I use the omnigrid, but I do have one Creative. When I started quilting Omnigrid was the one. The Creative doesn't slip. You can only buy Creative at quilt stores or vendors at shows.

Thanks for the great replies and info!!

I have the Olfa frosted and the Creative Grids.
I like the Olfa frosted better because they seem less cluttered to me. |
I like Creative Grids--but I'd like to see a 6.5" x 24"---that extra 1/2 in. in width would be handy.

Olfa frost -- wish I'd bought several sizes at the time.
That Patchwork Place Bias 8 square (which to my enormous regret they've stopped making. :( ) Jan in VA |
