My daughter wants a yoyo lap quit...she saw one in a magazine that was done with all different sizes of yoyos...How do these quilts hold up..? and when washed what do they look like?? I don't want to put alot of time in it and after it is washed it looks bad...larger ones look like the size of scaucer...not my fabric design in quilts...?

you could also put the yo yo's onto a backing that will show through and help hold everything together over time. most quilts don't need to be agitated in the washing machine which is hard on clothes too. soaking and spinning and adding rinse water and soaking and spinning is usually enough.

I was going to suggest that too:) Sounds like the kid might want to 'use' that quilt...make the yo-yo's and if it were me...I'd attach them using a blind hem stitch right on a backing...cute! (And so much faster!)I was able to see the yo-yo makers (the little plastic ones) used...they are awesome and they really make more consitent sizes too...and, have a variety of sizes of them. I'd defin. get the kid involved in making them too!:)Do share pics!! Skeat

I think I would rather roll naked on a bed of glass chards and then pour salt in the wounds than attempt a yo-yo quilt. More power to you and LOTS of patience. Sorry - no idea how they hold up.

I have made a yo-yo quilt that contained 2500 yo-yos. It is very heavy and have to be careful when lifting it, because it puts strain on the stitched that hold them altogether. I didn't sew mine to a backing.
I don't think the yo-yo lap quilt would be very cuddly.

If they are attached to a backing, they should be quilte sturdy!

Carnack is sensing that you are not in favor of making a yo-yo quilt.
