It was in the 80's. One of the pattern companies had it, like Simplicity etc. I wonder if I still have the pattern? I think I remember how to do it. I love the texture. Yours is so pretty.

How fun! I remember making a puff quilt, it was my first quilt, in those days it was called a 'Biscuit Quilt". My grandma taught me how to make it in the mid 70's. I used old nylons for the stuffing, and of course a lot of double knit polyester fabric, the thing weighed a ton!!

If anyone is interested, there's a youtube video tutorial. As I watched the struggle with the backing it dawned on me that if you were to use half inch seams, you could clip them and have it reverse to a rag quilt. This type of quilt gets very heavy when wet, and rag quilts have to be washed at least once, so that might be a consideration, but there are oversized machines in most commercial laundromats. There just might be another little puff quilt is in my future. I made only an 18" pillow using this technique in about 1980 when one of the popular magazines featured it. I think it's possible I still have the clipping in my hoard somewhere and will update if I find it.
This tutorial uses charm squares for the top, which is a plus, and he does it exactly as I remember from all those years ago. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1PN6WU7_CU

Rose- that's even easier than the way I made it years ago! Thanks so much! I'm going to make one with Christmas squares.

I have made a bunch and a bunch of baby Biscuit quilts. I have an instruction booklet that calls them Biscuit Quilts.

Biscuit and puff quilts look the same.

A tooth fairy pillow is like a regular throw pillow (but a tad fancier) with a little pocket for the tooth for the tooth fairy.
