How Large of a Quilt Will a Layer Cake (Moda) Make?
I am making a quilt for a fundraiser and it calls for one Layer Cake (10 in squares from Moda).
In order to buy the batting and backing I need to know approx. what size will this be once completed.
Thank you,
Pat

usually patterns tell you the final size, but not sure you can make a very large one with layer cakes. the finished size of each square will be 9.5". The largest you could make with one would be a 6X6 setting =9.5x6=57X57. you could add borders, which could add some inches....
you may be able to make it larger if you are using a different setting & yardage -- but that's another story.....

It depends on the pattern and if there is also other fabric used with the layer cake. How many squares are in the layer cake? Are the squares used whole or cut up to be pieced into blocks? The pattern should tell you how big the quilt you making will be. You need your backing/ batting to be larger than your top.
