Default Grace NM-EZ3 Quilt frame

Someone in my area has a Grace NM-EZ3 quilt frame for sale. I have no experience with it. They are asking $75.00. Would appreciate any comments on the frame and if this is a good price. Thanks in advance!

I don't know about the NM, but this is the current Grace EZ3 frame:

Looks like a great price, especially if it includes all 3 sizes of rails. Have you quilted on a frame like this before? I prefer a lap hoop because it allows me to change the orientation of the quilt. That way I can always quilt in the direction with which I am most comfortable.

I haven't heard of a NM EZ3 Grace floor frame but I do have an EZ3 Grace floor frame and I love it. $75 is a good price. Just make sure it has all its parts.

Personally I do not like my EZ3. I do not find it to be the least bit easy. But, you really never know till you try so for $75 if you think you would like it I say go for it. I will still use mine (when I get a bigger house cause we don't have room for it in this house lol) but I think I like using a hoop now. Although I have only done a small quilt in a hoop, a big one might change my mind again.

I have not used the EZ3, but I have the Grace frame Z44 which is the more deluxe model. I bought mine used for $250 with the clamps and cloths on the poles. It has been worth every penny. I have a quilt on most of the time. It is also useful for basting a quilt for machine quilting. If you have the room, I think you will like it. It is a good price. You might want to check out the Z44. They are advertised used quite often here. Just make sure it has the nylon gears rather than the wooden gears and the metal poles. As someone else said, make sure that it has all the parts and the instructions to put it together.

This appears to be a no-baste frame and to me that is worth its weight in gold if you are a hand quilter and have the room to leave it set up.

I don't know what this frame is like, but I bought an old model z44 at a thrift shop and use it for layering my large quilts. It is great for that use. I have not quilted on it. Maybe I'll upgrade to a newer model one of these days.

I have this exact frame and just completed a king sized Trip Around the World quilt (I'm doing a self-binding edge but will probably do that by machine like I did the top (using Eleanor Burns Trip Around the World instruction book). I paid over $200 for it around 2001. The instructions can be found at the Grace Company website if you don't have them. https://www.graceframe.com/frontend/...structions.pdf .....When I'm not doing a quilt I take it apart since its still pretty big even when folded up, but I wrap the wood rods together with the green shipping plastic wrap and put the fold down legs and hardware/instructions etc. into two boxes. I think its a wonderful hand-quilting frame.
