query about quilting density
I am hoping that someone will have a helpful hint for me. I have made a quilt for my nieces's son. I decided to use this to practise my free motion quilting. Individually each section looks ok ... However I really densely quilted an inner border and now the outer borders are wavy! sigh! Do you think repeating the pattern of the outer borders thereby making that more dense would help or create more waves? What to do??? I am sure the recipient wouldn't notice but I certainly will and am disappointed with my efforts.

I would put more dense quilting on the outer border. That should tame the waviness. One thing to remember when your are quilting is to try to have a uniform quilt density over the whole quilt. It doesn't have to be the same quilting pattern, but it should have the same approximate density.
