    Default Fish Block

I have been reading about this fish block both here and on the web. In all my research, it looks like nobody wants to do a tutorial lol and no small wonder. This is not an easy block and it take quite a few hours to make it.

I was lazy and didn't want to figure it out lol....anyway. I found the block in Block Base, pulled it into EQ and was able to just get one section for paper piecing. The rest were templates and mostly set-in's.

I used the Aunt Gracie fabric scraps, since I had the scraps out already from doing the Wheels quilt,

    http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...l-t183834.html

I made each fish a different fabric and after I finished the block, I added some extra background fabric so I could cut it wonky. I will be doing some odds and ends blocks from the AG scraps until I use them up and at the same time, I am learning a new block or figuring one out lol......This block is 10x10.

I've always liked that block and yours looks really good. Another one that I like in a similar theme is the Flying swallow block. I don't know if that is the actual name.

It sure is isn't it? I love this type of block and am searching BB to see others like it. This is one of the blocks used in the bible quilts. I don't know if any of you have done a bible quilt. I thought I would sort of do something of the sort. I thought I would do a Joseph's Coat of many colors but actually have the shape of the coat in the block.......

I think your background fabric detracts from the fish.

Great block ... could be fun for a kids quilt too.

I've never seen or heard of the block.
You mentioned that no one wants to do a tutorial about it ... now that you've done it, then perhaps you will?

Would you share your PP pattern, being that you created it?
    Please? and Thanks!

Oh I didn't create the block QuilteE. It is in a program called Block Base by Barbara Brackman.
