Default Street banner

Our town arts council is having a street banner contest. Entries need to be bold colors and need to be able to be seen from a distance since the chosen banners will br 2' x 4' when hung on main street. My question is do you think the colors are ok...specifically the green? Everything is fused down already so not sure how to replace a piece if need be. Will blanket stitch around each applique piece. Suggestions welcome!

I think it is great. Nice contrast in fabrics and so bright and beautiful.

I like it a lot. If it were me I’d do that blanket stitch in a dark color. Or maybe the black/dark blue of the background around the pieces on the yellow/gold and then yellow/gold on the dark background. It would make the figure pop! Nice work!

That's really cool. I think your gut feeling about the green is correct. It may be hard to see that color from a distance. Can you fuse a darker color over the existing green? Something to think about. Otherwise the banner is just beautiful :-)

I love it!!

I see what you mean about the visibility of the green on the yellow from a distance.

if it were me ... I would fuse another color over the green (orange? purple?) but slightly smaller so the green is the outline. The new color will pop from a distance and from a closer vantage the viewer will be rewarded with both colors.

I agree the green may be hard to read from a distance but the contrast on other colors is good

I like it just the way it is (with your planned blanket stitching). Looks like Celebrate Dance, Skating, the Arts??!

I like it! I think the green is fine. I take it that they are going to make banners out of this design? If they are, the colors will vary slightly in the printing process pr they can change them.
