I found the neatest website (actually my husband found it) for designing your own quilt. It will let you choose different block designs, shapes, sizes, colors and then has a built in calculator to tell you what size your pieces need to be and the amount of material. It will calculate the amount you need for your backing and binding. The program is free and allows you to save up to three quilts. If you want to save more than that so that you can use this tool all the time the cost is $10.00. Maybe allot of you have already seen this or are experienced enough not to need such a thing, but as a "newbie" I am happy I found it. I have a brain fart when it comes to calculating measurements with HST's and QST's etc. I can't comprehend the reason for adding on 7/8" so this figures it for me. Have a great day everyone and Happy Quilting!!!! The name of the site is "MyWebQuilter.com"

Blessings!!
