I think the foot is the wrong one for your machine. I put a Janome foot on a brother and it looked like yours, all crocked, I would send it back and try a different vendor on ebay.

Prism the spring can be manually moved up and down on the free motion foot. Its just the metal wire part that sits on top of the needle screw doesn't engage when sewing. "Assuming that is where it's suppose to sit"

I checked the walking foot again and the plastic is just not
formed squarely to begin with.

The person I purchased them from said I should return them. However, he also said that I had ordered the correct feet for my machine. So if I ordered the correct feet for the machine, why am I sitting here scratching my head wondering why they don't work? (operator malfunction?)

Does any one have a particular vendor they like on ebay for machine feet?

You would be much better off going to a local sewing center and buying through them. I got one at Hancock fabrics, and bought the wrong one first. They wouldn't take it back. I had to buy another one, but at least I got the right one and it works.

One thing I'm wondering is about the type of shank you have. I'm not familiar with your machine, but I thought most Singers have a slanted shank. I most definitely could be wrong, but worth checking out!!

Boy, this kind of stuff just plain stinks!! Hope you get it figured out.

jljack I am taking your advice and calling a local singer dealer Sat. and seeing if they have the feet on hand and how much, if they don't cost an arm and a leg I am going to go get them.

Sewcrafty yes it does stink.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions, comments and support
I do appreciate it.
Carol

in the second set of pictures see the white plastic thing that goes over the needle screw? It looks like its riding in the groove and throwing the whole thing off. Try lifting the white plastic thing off the groove and then tighten it down and see if it stays. Can you see what I'm talking about????? clear as mud
