Today I started looking for my candidates....I will be sharing some cash surprizes with a few people who appear to need it. I can't do 6 people this year, but I can start with a few. So thanks ya'll for making me feel like you were calling me on this one.
Pat, you are an amazing person. :!: What a kind thing to do!! I am in awe of you! As someone who understands how hard buying groceries can be, can I suggest you find someone who has Celiac Disease or another health issue to help out? Buying food for people with allergies and health problems (such as diabetes) can get very expensive. If you know anyone who has an autistic child, they do a thousand times better on a celiac diet and that, added to any medical costs, can sure get expensive. I imagine no matter who receives your amazing gift, it will touch their heart and soul. I know it has mine!

Joann - please know we are keeping your daughter in our prayers. That is a horrible thing to have to go through. What a stinker!

Thanks Patti and Tiffany. On top of the whole load of crap, DD finally had a doc check out why her shoulder has been bothering her for - oh about 2 years - and had rotator cuff surgery a week and a half ago. I couldn't help out, because as many of you know, I have my own shoulder prob and am now in AZ, but DD's GREAT college roomie doesn't start her new job until Jan, so she played caretaker from the day before the surgery until 10 days later. This is the year I REALLY wish DH and I had braved CT's winter - DD lives in NY's Hudson River Valley - BRRRRRRRRRRRR.

Sounds like you and your family have had a rough year. I hope 2010 is a much better year for you all!

Janstar - I hope DH finds another job soon!

Beautiful quilt featured in your avatar!
I'm afraid it would go into the checking account, have missed some work days due to a knee injury. Started back yesterday( nurse with 12 hr days) and am sitting here in jammies with an ice pack held to my PJ knee with a long yellow headed quilting pin, loll...

I would use some of it for quilting supplies and the rest for household expenses.

I would buy Christmas gifts for my kids and DGD. We have no money for Christmas this year.

I'm trying to make things again but I don't have a very big stash to pick from.

I just noticed this is a year old thread. How in the world did I find that???? LOL
