I've never used wool batting but I do love the 80/20. The needle just glides like buttah.

Yes, but I'm new at it. Am trying to find the best batting to use. I've done the warm and natural but it seems a bit thick for hand quilting.

Hand quilters like either one of these. I would stick with Hobbs 80/20 just because I am allergic to wool (as are many others in my family). I might consider using wool for a wallhanging.

I learned on Hobbs 80/20 12 yr ago to hand quilt and still use it a lot. Did a wool for my dd who lives in a cold climate. Am doing a bamboo queen size now and love it. But, for the price I will probably go back to what I used before. Also like Quilters Dream for baby quilts.

I have only used the 80/20. My first quilt was the Fairfield brand, I wasn't too happy with it, it was very uneven, thick spots and thin spots. Since then I have switched to Hobbs and I like it a lot. I want to try some others, though, to have something to compare it to.
