I love to crazy quilt, embroidery and bead. I don't have typical fabric colors drks and florals. I use alot of bright and b&w. what is your opinion on doing crazy quilts using brights, stripes and bold colors, beading and emb, these blocks. what would you do. thanks everyone

There are no rules in quilting. I think you could make a very whimiscal crazy quilt with brights. Love to see what you do.

I agree, there are no hard and fast rules. We all experiment. That's what makes quilting fun. Try the brights, stripes, etc., and be sure to post pics for us to ooh and aah over!!!

I would love to see one of your quilts. Do you follow a pattern, or make it up yourself ?(like I do)

I am working on a crazy quilt for my Mom, I am using upholstery fabric, and each block is the birthstone color of that month. Inside each month is emb. of the birthday or ann. in each month, and embelished with different stiching, beads and old lace. It is a very big WIP, alot of time into this one, but I love it!

Everyone has such great ideas for quilts. I think a crazy quilt (as I understand it) is just that crazy with no real organization to it and if you want to embelish it with pictures-lace-embrodary that would make it all that much more fun. Please keep the pictures coming I love looking at everyones work. Carole

There are no quilting police here. It sounds like it would be beautiful. I say go for it.

I think it would be fine, I made a red white and black one and it turned out looking very modern. My sister really liked it, it was made for her.
