question for experienced signature quilt people

It is in progress, with the nine patches still be constructed, but I am nearing the point of putting it all together. It is a Sandy Gervais pattern, Sticks and Stones:

The setting blocks are written upon with fabric pens.
I have heat-set the signatures. Do I need to do anything else before I sew them into the quilt?
I will be grateful for any other tips and warnings regarding the fabric pen signatures, that I may not know to ask.
