Hi, has anyone used the June Taylor spray chalk? I just came from JoAnn's and they have it in blue for light fabrics and white for dark fabrics. You lay your plastic stencil on quilt and "spray, Quilt and laundry" according to the directions. Cost is 10.99 so I wanted to check if anyone could share any information on this item. Thanks

I wouldn't want to spray my whole stencil and have to wash it often. maybe i'm not understanding it.

I think she means spray the quilt and then quilt it and then wash it.

Seems to me it would be easier to use pounce than a spray. Spray has a tendency to go everywhere, especially when you cannot hold the can upright.

you lay your stencil and spray it rather than using a pen marker of some sort. that means spray gets on the stencil. chalk so maybe it brushes off easily, not sure.

I have it. What nativetexan said. Doesn't brush off the stencil that easily.

There is a propellent in the spray so if you have allergies, this is a problem. I have demo'd it. I would not use it very much. The Magic Chalk "pounce" type is better. However, I find it useful if you are quilting a pile fabric - wool or flannel. And you do have to wash the stencil as it dries on the plastic.
