My new longarm was set up last Sunday. I think the guy may have set the rack height too high but honestly have not practiced enough to know for sure. Can any longarmers on the QB please tell me about where the rack front rail comes to on their body when they are standing at the front? Is it hip height, waste height or what?

It really depends what is comfortable for you and whether you are using regular handles or micro-handles. Every machine and every person is different. You can get a lot of information from MQResource. I am not sure the URL at the moment but if you google it you will find it.

I agree with Sadiemae, plus I had the power hydraulic lift put on mine so it is very easy to adjust to different heights if different people use the longarm. How tall are you?

I have a lift on mine... it's worth its weight in gold. However, it really depends on what is comfortable for you. I work mostly from the back of the machine (pantos) and I like my table really high. If I'm standing in front, the belly bar (so called because that's where most folks have it set at btw) hits me well above my waist. I don't like to bend over.
