For a temporary period, say the christmas season, would it work to pin a quilt top to another wall hanging?

I don't have time to sandwich, quilt it and bind it. I am thinking about using a bunch of basting pins and pinning my christmas top to the one I currently have in my hanger. Plus, the hanger is one that clamps the quilt top and I'm thinking 1 layer of fabric might not hold. They're both the same width, can't remember the length.

What do you think?

It sounds like it would work to me. Just don't let anyone get close enough to finger it and stretch out your edges or fray them and you should be good to go. You may find the top stretches a bit from hanging. I would think you should be able to iron it back into shape without any real problems though.

Well, it worked! I took the size 2 basting pins and pinned along the top. I don't think it will fray since it's just the 2 of us, no kids, no pets! I'll let you know in January what kind of shape it's in.

So I've covered up the lilac quilt in my avatar with this christmas top.

Wow Carol, that is sure pretty. Is that applique around the outer border or a printed fabric? Are the five blocks appliqued? If so, you do amazing work! If not, great fabric choices!

Gorgeous! Think you should leave it up year round when you are finally finished with it.
