If you had several flour sacks, what pattern would you use?
I am so excited for the purchase (thanks dh) but I'm scared to cut them up. Any and all ideas welcome.

i would put in a few large squares to make a start of a quilt. a purse would be cute also.. what ever you choose let us see pics of what you make.. have fun

if you are a beginner quilter, get some practice fabric first to test your cutting/sewing skills before cutting into feedsacks!!! the old rule, measure twice and cut once, is never more true with orgional feed sack fabric....you just can't run out to the fabric store and buy more!!!!!!!!

I've been quilting for a few years and am pretty comfortable. My problem is that I would like to make something more traditional and just can't decide what pattern to use.lol I appreciate the comments just waiting to find the "right" quilt to make.

I've seen flour sacks turned into bags & pillows but have not seen a quilt made from them. I would look at the dimensions of your logos before looking for a specific pattern. If some are smaller than others, you could certainly add a border to even the sizes out.

I collect vintage quilts. Most of the patterns are: Dresden Plate, butterflies, double wedding ring, broken dishes, 9 patch, triple Irish chain. Almost all of them go better with snow colored fabric than white. Just remember that after you make whatever, be careful to not let your pets on them. I have a beautiful quilt that I laid on the back of a chair. The little dogs would jump on it occasionally and I realized it too late. They messed up a few of the blocks, these fabrics are really old. Have fun .

Are flour sacks the same thing as feed sacks? Is the fabric a little on the coarse side? Is it a print on a white background?

I have one that I am someday going to make into a teddy bear. If I have any leftovers, I probably will use them to make a pillow or something else.
