Default Looking for border suggestions

I just put the last piece on this quilt top and am ready to start auditioning borders. I am totally blank, can only think of adding a purple border. I am open to any other suggestions....

It is a bit hard to tell, but there is a one inch continuation of the sashing all around the part I have done.

What might you do it this was your quilt? Thanks for any suggestions.

Dina

Very pretty - if it were mine, I'd finish it the way it is (no border).

I agree I like it simple w/o the extra border. I wouldn't add any unless I was needing size, even then I'd be more apt to add another row or column before a border.

I'm not a "scrappy"type quilter but I think if it were mine and I needed to add a border to finish to a desired size I would audition one made from all the fabrics I used in the design. I think my first possibility would be differing lengths pieced together diagonally with a small consistent piece from the sashing fabric acting as a "cornerstone" in between each pair of diagonally cut pieces. Am I making any sense? Sorry really tired tonight. My 1st choice would be no border if not needed to reach a certain size. Beautiful quilt!

I might do a border with the "filmstrip" look. Little squares of the jewel tone colours separated with equal size white squares all the way around the quilt and then a solid border. It is pretty the way it us now also.

I think, if the size is what you like, I would not use a border. Perhaps just another white strip around and then the white binding. It's a beautiful layout! ...and the colors are really nice.

Really pretty quilt. Usually like borders but if it is right size then a white strip and bind in white. If it isn't big enough, then I would opt for wider white border and let the colors sing as they are now.
